SHONA IS STRUGGLING WITH MAX As Faye struggles to look after Lily and Harry, while Shona and Sarah are out for birthday drinks, Max arrives home in a filthy mood. Shona and Sarah return home to find Max and Lily rowing over the telly. Suddenly there’s a crash and Harry is knocked unconscious so Shona calls an ambulance. Sarah heads off to hospital with Harry. Meanwhile Shona turns on Max, blaming him for Harry’s injury. Max explains to Shona how it was Lily who pushed Harry over, not him.

GEMMA TAKES A TURN FOR THE WORSE Gemma tells Chesney she’s wangled free VIP tickets to County’s match but her delight turns to embarrassment when she gets stuck in the turnstile.

SINEAD STRUGGLES TO KEEP SMILING The severity of her illness hits Sinead hard as she is forced to use a wheelchair to get to a family picnic. Daniel, Sinead, Beth, Kirk and Craig enjoy the picnic in Victoria Garden but as Sinead tries to join a game of charades it is evident she is too poorly and needs to be taken home.

ELSEWHERE Yasmeen and Geoff find themselves run off their feet at Speed Daal. Geoff suggests they should buy into the business as they’re doing all the hard work anyway. Ali approaches Toyah for some unofficial advice. Bethany and James go for a run, but when Bethany blocks his path for a laugh causing him to fall and hurt his ankle.


SHONA’S MADE A GRAVE MISTAKE Marion arrives and reveals to Shona that she’s Max’s grandma, Max has been visiting her regularly and he’s currently at her house. Realising Shona is drunk she claims she’s an unfit mother. Marion visits the Adam to ask how she should go about getting custody of her grandchildren, unaware of the connection to the Platts Adam advises her. Shona’s in the middle of telling Sarah about Marion’s visit when Lily admits she pushed Harry. Shona is gutted when she receives a text from Marion informing her that she’ll be hearing from her solicitor.

GEMMA’S BUMP IS GIVING HER THE HUMP Two firemen dismantle the turnstile, finally setting Gemma free. Chesney takes Gemma to the hospital.

SINEAD REALISES THAT TIME IS TICKING Daniel and Sinead settle down in front of the telly, aware these moments will soon be a thing of the past.

ELSEWHERE Yasmeen reveals that Alya is happy for her to invest in the business but not Geoff causing him to storm off. Bethany asks James about the politics of being a professional footballer and says it would make a great article.


DAVID’S PAST COMES BACK TO HAUNT HIM Shona tries to contact Max but he ignores her calls. David voices his concerns over the tense atmosphere in the prison and is worried when Shona tells him about Max staying at Marion’s house and how Marion plans to apply for custody of her grandson. His day goes from bad to worse when he goes to the medical wing to get his medication and is horrified to spot a bloodied and bruised Josh waiting to get treatment. David makes brief eye contact with Josh before heading back to his cell, clearly shaken. Abe reveals that Josh is inside for drugging and raping someone, David admits that Josh did exactly the same to him. Back on the street Sarah’s horrified to discover Marion has been seeking legal advice from Adam.

GEMMA CAN’T ESCAPE THE PACK Gemma is infuriated to find that a photo of her stuck in the turnstile has made the front page of the Gazette and that she is being harassed by journalists. She meets with a PR Agent in the Rovers who insist she could set up interviews and make Gemma a small fortune. Gemma is interested but suddenly starts to get stomach pains. At the hospital Gemma is told she needs gets lots of rest. Bernie insists they don’t need Rosa and offers to look after Gemma’s PR, to her delight. Chesney is less keen on the idea.

BETHANY FINDS INSPIRATION Bethany struggles with her short story for the writing course. Brian suggests she should pick a subject close to her heart. Bethany shows her short story to James. James promises to keep it a secret once he realises that the story is about her own experiences and her love for Daniel.

ELSEWHERE Much to Alya’s annoyance, a thrilled Geoff explains that Zeedan has agreed to sell his half of the business. Sinead admits to Beth that just the simplest of tasks has become an uphill struggle as she’s no energy. Yasmeen assures Alya that she wants Geoff to be part of the business. To anger her even more, Geoff suggests on scrapping her no alcohol policy. Aware Sinead won’t live to see Christmas, Kirk consults Beth, Craig, Adam and Tracy and they plan to celebrate Christmas early.
