A brand new series for S4C sees Five celebrities, five mentors and five very different reasons for learning Welsh as they travel to different parts of Wales in Iaith ar Daith (Welsh on the Road).

Beginning on S4C from Sunday 19th April each week we see one celebrity and their Welsh-speaking mentor, who is also a well-known face, travel to different parts of Wales in order to learn some more of the language – and there will be several challenges along the way.

Those taking part include Gavin and Stacey actress and writer Ruth Jones. Former One Show host Adrian Chiles and TV and radio presenter Carol Vorderman.

For each celebrity their reason behind learning Welsh is a personal one and for Carol Vorderman: “I’m moving back to Wales – I’ve got a little house in Pembrokeshire on the cliffs and I’m moving to Cardiff in the late summer this year from Bristol where I’ve been living for some time. I genuinely feel I have a responsibility to come home and do what I can to show my Welshness now. Speaking our language is part of that.

Mentoring Carol on her journey is BBC North West Tonight weather presenter Owain Wyn Evans.
